Wondering if anybody else has this experience
Over the last few weeks, my "suggested posts" on facebook have almost entirely become suggestive photos of young-ish girls. Nothing overt, but about half the suggested posts are pictures of highschool track and field teams, uploaded by random high schools nowhere near me, but only ever pictures of girls in running shorts. If I click on the uploader there are other pictures with guys in it, or of girls but not in running shorts. The posts that get suggested to me are always of girls in shorts though
Another common theme is old (ie young) photos of Millie Bobby Brown. Also a lot of photos of various young actresses in The Walking Dead.
I have zero interest in track and field, Stranger Things, or The Walking Dead (...or young girls)
I really don't think any of my online activity would lead Facebook to think I am interested in this content. But what I find more unsettling is that Facebook('s algorithm) would cater to this? I realize I've probably made it worse for myself by clicking on some of the profiles that got suggested to me, but I only started doing that recently when this really became a pattern that was bothering me. Otherwise I've just spammed the "Hide Post: See less content like this" button on probably 100 suggested posts.

Going to uni in the fall, and I thought about getting an iPad for classes/drawing.
My options are a refurbished 3rd gen iPad Pro 256gb (12.9 in) for 500-550 USD or a brand new 6th gen iPad Pro 128gb (12.9 in) for around 1099 USD. I could possibly scrape enough to get the 6th gen but I wouldn't really be left with a lot of money to buy accessories and stuff that I would need for the tablet, and its also a pretty big investment for me. On the other hand, a refurbished model might not last as long or have defects that could affect my use of it.
If anyone has any advice to help me decide on which one to buy I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hello yall, this post is pretty much gonna be me ranting about transferring.. so basically I applied for transfer and luckily got into Umich. Back then I was pretty committed on transferring mainly because Umich has a much better cs program than my current school and has the research program I wanted to be in, and I was certain that it would bring me more possibilities. But as time pass I just become more skeptical of transferring. Im just become more depressed when I think about the fact that I will have to leave all of my friends here and the community where i felt I fit in and start over, and I am not even sure if I will have friends or find a new community where I will fit in. And the fact that I made a lot of great friends during my last quarter is also making me sad. Also ppl always tell me if I study cs the school doesn't even matter so it makes my doubt my decision even more. Overall, I just feel like I am overwhelmed by the big change in front of me, and I feel rlly depressed and indecisive nowadays. Anyways, thanks for listening:)

I fear I may have made this encounter too hard on my party of three 6th-level PCs and one sidekick. For reference, the "Greater Skulk" stat block is basically a buffed Skulk (original skulk stat block is in MToF, 227). Primary differences: CR 3, HP 49, AC 15, 20 (+5) DEX, and Multiattack (two attacks).
If you're not familiar with the particular episode/adventure, a room within the Lair of the Keeper--the lair is basically an enormous dragonshard geode--has three of these guys, who attack the party if they move through the room. The adventure doesn't say they're hiding, but I assumed from the creature's stat block that they should, as a general strategy; rolled a 25, 21, and 22 for stealth, so they surprised the party. A passive perception of 17 is supposed to allow PCs to get around the skulks' invisibility by spotting their reflections in the crystalline walls, but my two WIS-class players both have only 16.
I'm now thinking I should have played into the "wander listlessly through this chamber" rather than having them hide as if for an ambush. Because my party rolled terribly for initiative and is now about to get ten attacks against them with advantage before any of them get a single turn. We stopped the session after rolling initiative, and they have no idea what they're in for.
On top of that, the party relies a lot on radiant damage (Paladin, Cleric, Stars Druid), and these things are IMMUNE to radiant damage. I just know the first thing the cleric will do is cast Spirit Guardians, and the druid relies on archer constellation and guiding bolt quite a bit.
Should I run the encounter from here on as normal? (Philosophy of our table is a PC death every so often is normal, even expected, but TPKs are avoided at all costs.) Should I nerf the monsters, doing one or more of the following?

• Drop multiattack; or make it kick in at half hp
• Reduce HP and/or AC
• Drop radiant damage immunity, or replace with resistance (what would be the lore reason for this anyway? I was astonished to see even the original CR 1/2 creature has immunity to radiant)
• Allow free perception checks at the start of players' turns to spot the skulks' reflections in the dragonshard crystals; with DC 17 this will still be hard, but at least they'll have a chance to circumvent the invisibility

Do you wanna rewatch Star Wars: The Clone Wars (and perhaps introduce a friend to this awesome series)? Or do you want to watch it for the first time, and are not sure where to start?
First, a couple of infos: - The show has a total runtime of ~56h, plus a movie of 1.5h. Each episode is roughly 22-25 minutes. Seasons 1-4 have 22 episodes, Season 5 has 20 Episodes and Season 6&7 only have 13/12 Episodes. - The first season released in 2008, the last season in 2020. Because of this (and other factors), the quality in animation increases drastically over time.
Why do you even need a watching guide?\* The show was originally produced for television, with the target audience being children and teenagers. This leads to a lot of filler episodes, especially in earlier seasons. If you're like me, you don't need 22 Minutes of Jar Jars/R2D2s/C3POs attempts at comedy, or Padme doing boring space politics. Also, the release order is not the chronological order, which makes earlier seasons a bit confusing.
How does this guide work? I have crossed out these terrible episodes (and other filler episodes, especially in earlier seasons). Some of these Episodes are still worth watching in my opinion, but that depends on your personal preferences.
Some episodes of the Clone Wars are absolute must-watch-episodes for any Star Wars fan. I have indicated these episodes in bold. If you just watch these, you will catch most of the major plot-points in the series, but you will lose out on some great Episodes that are not super relevant to the overall plot.
Other episodes depend on the time you have available, your personal taste, and your aversion to the rougher animation-quality of earlier seasons.

The List:

Christophsis Arc: Episodes 216, 116 and The Clone Wars movie.
-> This Arc Introduces Ahsoka, Rex and Ventress. Not very high quality, but I would still recommend watching it, because these are the first episodes chronologically, and because they lay some groundwork for later character-development.

Domino Squad Arc: Episodes 301, 105 and 302
-> This story is a must watch not just because they are some of the better episodes of the first seasons, but also because it sets up Rex, Cody, and a group of clones, who will be important later on. Arranged in chronological Order here (which is weirdly split across 2 seasons). Also a decent starting point if you skipped the Christophsis Arc.

Season 1:
101 (Yoda+Clones) -> If you really love Yoda, maybe.
102-104 (Malevolence Arc) -> Okay-ish Arc. If you don't want to watch too much of the earlier seasons, rather watch the Ryloth Arc.
106/107 (Battle of the Droids) -> If you really wanna see Anakin, Rex and Ahsoka in the early seasons, go for it. I guess it also makes you more invested in these 3 characters, which is nice for later.
108 (Terrible Jar Jar Episode) -> Worst rated CW Episode on IMDB lol.
109 (Ahsoka vs Ventress) -> If you like Ahsoka/Ventress, or as an introduction to Ventress if you skipped the Christophsis Arc.
110 (Lair of Grievous) -> I personally love this episode. Kit Fisto is great, and Grievous is not just incompetent, but scary in this one.
111/112 (Anakin, Obi-Wan & Dooku) -> These Episodes have some great Banter, but... Jar Jar.
113/114 (Jedi Crash) -> If you already really like early Clone Wars, go for these filler episodes. Otherwise, meh.
115 (Misunderstandings in a Winter World) -> Anakin/Obi-Wan/Rex Episode. It's a decent filler episode, nothing special.
117/118 (Padme+Jar Jar Virus)
119-121 (Ryloth Arc) -> Not a must watch, but probably the best Arc from season 1.

122, 201-203 (Cad Bane Introduction)
204 (Intro to Geonosis) -> Has some Lore around the seperatists, sets up the next arc and has some Padme/Anakin Romance. I don't like this one, but if you like this Episode, you might also like 605-607.
205-208 (Geonosis)
209 (Grievous/Eeth Koth) -> If you like Grievous and Episodes with loads of fighting, this is a good one for you.
210 (Deserter, Rex) -> Rex Character Development, great Episode if you like Rex/Clones.
211 (Ahsoka, Lightsaber lost) -> Ahsoka Character Development. I like this one, because... AHSOKA
212-214 (Mandalore I)
215 (Padme Senate Investigation)
217 (Bounty Hunters) -> Watch if you want to see Obi-Wan/Anakin/Ahsoka interact with Bounty Hunters
218/219 (Zillo Beast Arc) -> Watch if you like big Monsters.

This Post isn't meant to discourage anyone from watching the entire series. If you notice that you like early filler episodes, just watch everything (except maybe some of the terrible Jar JaDroid Episodes, but maybe you even like those, I'm not judging... at least not a lot).

I read so many personal stories before my surgery. Reading these stories was reassuring and informative. So I’m glad to add my own anecdata now.
Now to practicalities: I live in Germany and the surgery is not covered by insurance. I paid 1125 euros out of pocket, all included in the price. The surgery was carried out at an outpatient surgical facility, not a general hospital.
I wanted a female surgeon on principle (and because the statistics show that female patients have fewer complications when the surgeon is female), but I chose a male surgeon who I felt comfortable with and had positive reviews. I liked that he was mid-career, meaning he was instructed in relatively newer methods but also had considerable experience (~10 yrs of doing bisalps weekly), and I liked that he asked me exactly ZERO questions about my personal life during the initial consultation.
Before the surgery I prepared everything I could think of: -bought an electric heating pad (this was a great purchase) -OTC anti-bloat medicine (w the ingredient simeticon), anti-nausea medicine, cough drops for post-intubation discomfort - prunes for constipation - pure cranberry juice for UTI (in the case I was catheterized) - cleaning my whole apartment and preparing my space so I wouldn’t have to bend down - preparing a lot of healthy frozen leftovers (I cooked extra portions for a week) - pillow for under the seatbelt on the taxi ride home - Extra sterile bandages/band aids to cover my stitches afterward
I live alone in an apartment with an elevator. I had a close friend pick me up from the surgery and stay with me for a few hours (we ordered lunch and watched a movie). I arranged other friends to check on me by phone for the first 24 hrs.
The worst part for me was the worry and anticipation before the surgery. I could hardly concentrate the week before. But on the morning of I felt ready and even a little positive anticipation!
Pre-op: I take St. John’s wort (johanniskraut) and Valerian, which I stopped 3 weeks before the surgery. Supplements also stopped a week before (vitamin k+D, B, melatonin). I had a scheduled phone consult with the anesthesiologist a few days before. Finish eating by 8pm the night before, clear liquids allowed until 6 hrs pre-op (I had two cups of black coffee and a big glass of water morning of). Shower with antibacterial soap the day before and morning of surgery, no shaving day-of, no deodorant, hair products, or lotion.
Here is how my surgery went: Check in, wait, speak with anesthesiologist, wait, nurse gave me a pain pill, wait, invited back to change into gown. I was surprised to be able to leave my socks, underwear, and bra on during the surgery. I was not catheterized and they did not use a uterine manipulator (nothing through the cervix).
Next I was brought to operating room, there were about 7 people, surgeon comes in and says hello, anesthesiology assistant tells me to take deep breaths, then I’m out like a light by the third breath. I woke up a little hazy (like from a deep nap) in the operating room - they say it’s already done!
Post-surgery recovery room: Next thing I knew, I woke up again fully alert and calm in the recovery room, nurses check on me and bring me coffee and water, they direct me to a bathroom, no issues walking or using the bathroom, about an hr later I get to change and leave - able to walk out unassisted with my friend. I felt maybe a little shocked / like a kind of sedated relief.
I expected to be pretty bloated and/or for my abdomen to look a bit serious but it was actually fine, 3 big bandaids/wound coverings and no visible-to-me bloating.
Pain after surgery: I was fortunate to have only very minimal pain. I expected to wake up with a crater of pain in my abdomen, but it felt like three bee stings or big deep papercuts.
(Since it is so subjective, for pain scale reference my period pain has on rare occasion been a bad 8/10, like blurry vision from blinding pain, nausea and vomiting, pain all the way through the toes bad. And in the past I have herniated one of the discs in my spine/had radiating sciatic pain 7/10 and had my wisdom teeth out 4/10).
I’d rate my pain a 2/10, and the pain was very localized/not radiating. What hurt most was standing up, I guess this puts pressure/stretching on the lower abdomen, a brief 4/10. For several days after surgery I’d having short, random shooting pains in my cervix area and near the side incisions but still only 2/10. I managed the first day on 600mg ibuprofen and day two on 400mg of ibuprofen. No meds needed by day three. My doctor gave me 1 oxycodone but I did not need it.
Other after surgery: No post-op bleeding, but again they did not need to use a uterine manipulator.
It was very helpful to sleep propped up with pillows also under my arms. Normally a side sleeper, but that wasn’t comfortable until a week or so post-op.
Was also careful with stairs for a few days, but a single step, like off the sidewalk, was no issue even on day zero.
I did have some residual gas feeling which felt like pressure under my sternum and on the right side of my shoulder where it meets the neck. I had some discomfort taking deep breaths, especially in the right diaphragm/lung area. This went away by day three.
I had zero appetite for a few days after surgery.
What I did not really anticipate was considerable fatigue. I went for a slow 20 min walk outside on the day after (against the blood clot risk) but then needed a 3 hr nap. I was sleepy throughout the day for the first few days after the surgery. By day 4 I felt around 75%.
The other thing that was surprising is my sense of smell became very sharp for about a week. A quick Google suggests this can temporarily happen, but was a bit strange!
I couldn’t comfortably wear anything that buttoned right at my bellybutton incision for about 3 weeks.
Post-op follow up: I got regular surgical stitches that were removed on day 16. The stitches itched from days 5–10. I used antibacterial soap on the incisions when showering, and dried the bellybutton afterward with a q tip. It was a lot more comfortable to have the stitches covered under clothing with extra bandages (so that they didn’t pull or catch on clothing), so I was glad I bought those. Some light bruising around each of the three stitches.
My first period after the bisalp was delayed by 10 days and not fun for a few hours on the first day - managed w 800mg ibuprofen and a hot water bottle. The incision areas also felt sore. But normalized to my usual 2-400mg by the second day.
Emotional feeling after: My bisalp felt like one of the best and most defining days of my life. I felt a sense of freedom and unburdening I have never before experienced. For the first time EVER I feel like I’m guaranteed to be able to live my life for myself on my own terms

this is my first outbreak of GHSV-1. came out of nowhere, mustve been dormant for years. the first symptom i had, starting 7 days ago, was that it kinda stung when i would pee. now it burns like hell it's getting worse every day and i'm getting afraid to go. i dread it and have been drinking less water because im so fucking scared and tired of it. i cant stop sobbing every time shaking in exhaustion afterwards. getting a big second degree burn years ago hurt a lot but not as much as my urethra does now and i have to face it again and again several times a day. i do the water spraying thing but i couldnt even hold the bottle last time i felt so weak. i can barely even look down there from my labia to my asshole is just covered in sore bumps. im using a ton of vaseline and hydrocortisol ointment and non-stick wound pads since i dont have cotton underwear. theres a decent amount of pus when i change them so i guess they might start crusting over? i started 2000 mg valacyclovir two days ago now and 2000mg L Lysine today. going to take an epsom salt bath. does weed help? might smoke some weed for the first time in over half a year but idk i kind of had a good sober streak going. i read somewhere that the first outbreak can last 2-6 weeks. am i really less than halfway through this torture?? i can cope with oozy sores i guess but will urinating stop burning soon ??? did it last the whole outbreak for some of you???? i'm so scared of how long this is going to take

So earlier today I delivered to the sweetest older lady, and immediately she apologized for not being able to tip, and gave me these nice little baskets she makes instead. She mentioned that she was having a bad day, and I asked her why...
Turns out her cat is dying and she had to make an appointment to put her down. She said she lived alone and didn't have anybody and didn't have a lot of money, and again apologized for not being able to tip. I tried to give her some money for the baskets and to help with the vet bill but she refused it.
I could hear the cat meowing in the background and I could just tell this lady was really depressed about losing her kitty.
So anyways... I can't stop thinking about her and just imagining how sad and lonely she'll be without her kitty. I bought her a pet loss greeting card and I'm thinking about sending it with my phone number and the offer of paying the adoption fee if she wants to adopt a new kitty to help with her loneliness and pain from losing her cat. Or just someone to talk to if she needs.
I kinda feel like it's a bridge too far but she doesn't seem like the type of person who would be upset or weirded out by it and report me to Spark.
Full disclosure... I recently lost my 18 year old cat that I had since she was a kitten and I have five other kitties and I just can't imagine how much worse it would have been if I didn't have my other cats around after I lost her.
Anyways please let me know if this is a terrible idea or what you think I should do... If anything.

Last year, my CYA levels were well over 100 when I was a new pool owner, and I had to add a lot of chlorine to shock my pool, but it held the chlorine for a decent amount of time. After retesting now, im at 30-40, but I'm finding myself pouring in gallons of chlorine everyday, is this expected in hot summer months? I'm in california fwiw.

My story of encountering a Karen that I can remember to this day is the one when a Karen in her SUV yelled at my mom for illegal parking even though she was picking up a bought product from the Facebook marketplace.

It was the year 2021, my mom was shopping on the Facebook marketplace. She bought a Conair Infiniti Pro Spin Air Rotating Styler brush from the platform because she's the type of person who likes to style her hair a lot. The hairbrush was sold on Facebook for $20. The product she bought was 40 km away from our home, so she had to drive there to pick it up. I decided to tag along with her too so I could be her witness if something terrible happened. Our seller's home was located deep inside a residential neighbourhood. The road she drove on became more narrow the deeper we went inside. Finally, we arrived at our seller's apartment. My mom decided to park in a no-parking zone even though she would walk onto the sidewalk and wait there for a few minutes. She thinks it's okay to park as long as your parking there for more than 10 minutes. As she was standing on the sidewalk, she turned on her iPhone data and messaged her seller to announce that she was there. Suddenly, a woman driving her SUV came by. She looked like in her 30s or 40s and ironically had a Karen haircut. Not only that, she had blonde hair and wore glasses. Then, she rolled down her car window and began yelling at my mom. She yelled, " Miss? your parking in an illegal spot!!!". My mom, on the other hand, is not afraid of this kind of entitled people and argued with the Karen back. My mom protested, "I'm just gonna pick up something that I bought". For me, I was inside my mom's car in the front passenger seat and watching the entitled Karen berate my mom, I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to make the situation evolve into classic road rage. "Well why don't you go in there for yourself" Karen replied rudely to my mom. She drove off. Our seller came to my mom with the product in the nick of time. My mom told me everything about the seller that happened earlier. The seller told her not to worry and ignore that entitled person. In the end, my mom gave the 20-dollar bill to the seller and was given the hair styling product. My mom immediately got into her seat and turned the engine on. She was still upset about that Karen yelling at her and suspected that the entitled person was being racist cuz we are both Asian. This was 2 years ago and I can still remember my mom's frustration clearly.

I'd like to find somebody thoughtful, someone who isn't superficial. Somebody who appreciates the rich vastness of our shared multicultural past, and freely follows her curiosity in exploring it. Somebody who is trying her best to adhere to the guidance of her inner moral compass, and isn't so easily fooled by the distractions and illusions of the world.
One such illusion, that must immediately be mentioned (this is important, because it's led to a break for me, in the past): religion. Religion is man-made, and not of any higher authority. The Bible and the Quran all permit slavery—in addition to countless other horrid and divisive ideas—while claiming to be eternal wisdom, and that is indefensible. I still like to believe in the idea of some permeating higher morality, that imbues us with our general sense for justice, fairness, and empathy...but, I know that without outright proof, even my holding of such a notion can be deemed a flight of fancy, a residual remnant of a system so entrenched. However, it seems to me that life is often more than just what's on the surface. Um, but now, then—back to the person I wish to know...
I'd also love it if she were artistic. Singing, sketching, painting, writing, composing, creating. Someone who is trying to nurture their talents and passions. I know it can be difficult...
As for me, well... I adore music. Mostly voices from the past (the 1960s would have to be my favorite), because I find them to be humbler and more from the heart, at least in popular music. I’ll just give an example of something I’ve looked into, and this is nowhere near representative of my wider taste, but if you go back to early 1920s country music... (Here's an aside: a lot of what people think of as "country" today is a long cry from what the genre is actually like, historically. If you are into folk music—Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan—it is indelibly linked to "country", and if you'd like a popular example of a song that originated within the genre, look no further than the universally recognized "You Are My Sunshine", from 1939!)
Anyway. If you go back to that early period, where undiscovered niches of music were still sought out and first put to tape... a lot of those artists had no idea about anything to do with recording—no ego, no attempt to sound "cool". What came through instead was a bare expression of the life that had been lived—the inner beauty of their own personhood, and I love hearing that. It's so honest. A vulnerable and piercing expression.
So if you're into history or the beautiful music of decades (and centuries) past, if you have any aspirations for creating as a method of changing the world for the better, if you'd like to play games and watch movies together, if you'd like an accountability partner—or all of the above...please message me. To close... I suppose I should say I've been afflicted with long-COVID for over two years. It'd be very nice to keep each other company, especially if we share any of the interests up above—we could watch favorite films, have shared listening sessions on Spotify, and it'd be a godsend to find somebody up to play on PS4 and Switch! Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 on the secret hard modes, maybe? Or sculpting our own world from scratch in Minecraft? Or maybe we could act out Ocarina of Time's storyline using all the options available on Smash Ultimate!
I'd really like to know an intelligent person with a unique identity...who puts forth effort—though at the same time, no pressure on reaching out. I’m so confused at what’s wrong with me. I have so, so many psychopathic traits infact id say 99% of them. I have no remorse or shame, no regret I don’t feel bad for my actions. I think horrible things I don’t care if someone died in front of me I don’t care if someone gets hurt. But earlier today I was watching a stream and the guy kept apologising and I felt kinda bad. I complimented him. There goes the only explanation I know. It’s the only form of empathy I feel. I usually get so annoyed when people apologise to me but there’s some scenarios that just get to me. I’m only 13 so I don’t know, I used to have so much empathy, but I haven’t had remorse my whole life. I’ve had most of my psychopathic traits my whole life but only now is my empathy fading. This is the first time I’ve felt bad for someone in a while. I can’t even remember what I felt it was so brief. A kid fell backwards off his chair and smashed his head, everyone around me was like “oh my god is he okay” but I don’t care I just ate my food. I don’t feel bad for him. But I felt bad for the guy here. I think it’s hopelessness, I might feel bad for a cause with no hope? I don’t know what this might be. I’ll list some of my traits now: -Low to none empathy (decreasing rapidly) -No remorse or grief -No regret -“Cruel” and “horrible” thoughts (like hoping my piano teacher dies so I don’t have to do my lesson) -I get annoyed when people are weak and complain about their pain -chronic boredom and I need stimulation often -No love for my family Those are my traits, I’ve had them my whole life except for empathy, I cried in a few sad movies and I cried watching my cat kill a bird. If any of those things happened now I simply wouldn’t care. This is the first time I’ve had empathy in a while and it was very brief, I don’t know what it was. I didn’t feel bad I just felt like I needed to compliment him? Does anyone know what is wrong with me? Or at least have an idea? I’d also say that my symptoms have been worsening quite a lot recently.
