I found out the hard way while playing my new monoblack, secret-commander [[Necrotic Ooze]] deck that my pod HATES infinite combos (I won the game as soon as NOoze resolved, using the activated abilities of [[blighted bat]], [[palladium myr]], [[pili-pala]], and [[Herald of Hadar]] from the graveyard to roll infinity d20's, instantly life-wiping the table).
I promised my pod I'd take any infinite combo pieces out of the deck, but I didn't promise to stop abusing NOoze. After removing the combo pieces and mana-sink wincons, I decided I have enough room to pivot to Dimir, and changed the commander to [[Lazav, the Multifarious]].
Here's where /degenerateEDH comes in: what are the best creatures' activated abilities in UB, which I can put in the graveyard for NOoze/Lazav to abuse?
Only two rules, per my pod's meta:
1) no infinite combos
2) no card whose value exceeds $10.
So far, my best idea is to get [[Horseshoe crab]] and [[Tree of Perdition]] in the yard, so I can spend U,U,U to tap/untap NOoze/Lazav and take all opponents down to 3 life each. Still trying to figure out a wincon from there.
My goal is to make the NOoze so powerful that my friends regret forcing me to pivot away from infinite monoblack. Whether you build off the Horseshoe Crab of Perdition line, or have a totally new idea for a wincon, I'd love to hear your most oppressive activated abilities!

i went to 2 games this weekend and couldn’t find a single Suárez jersey after looking through the main team store and like 5 little kiosk things. then i went online and the only Suárez jersey i can find is white. Been on ozempic .25 injection for about 2 and a half weeks now Was prescribed it for pre diabetes and high cholesterol which runs strong in my family so I was initially very excited to try it and see how it lowered my #s - and maybe even lose some weight, which is awesome! Who wouldn't?
Immediately noticed a huge decrease in my appetite. Which is fine cause I am overweight and could definitely stand to eat smaller portions
But the new problem is eating is torture I feel sooooo full all the time, even tho my brain knows my body needs to eat, my stomach can't handle most "strong" tastes anymore. I have to struggle to get applesauce and soup down cause that's all it feels like I can handle but I still feel so sick And then one night when I had a sort of large dinner (no drinks) I woke up at 530 am and threw it all up
I think the issue is I don't eat and then my stomach acid takes over and causes me to feel even more nauseous and I feel so trapped and helpless. I'm performing worse at work cause I pretty much feel sick all the time and I don't know what to do to make my stomach feel normal again

What does it take to score proficient on an evaluation as a support or coteacher? I’ve been a teacher for 5 years 2 overseas and I was about disappointed I got needs improvement on my end of year evaluation. I feel like as a third year teacher this shouldn’t be happening and I should be getting proficient however this has also occurred at my last school. The evaluation said they saw me standing in the back too much in class but I thought I was doing good at actively circulating and writing feedback on student papers as well as building stronger relationships with colleagues and students. I hate this feedback because I don’t know how one measured how strong your relationships are with someone and I show up to all prep meetings on time and do all planned portions of the class. Do any veteran teachers have advice? In the same sentence my vice principle said “You’re a great teacher but there’s somethings we need you to work on.” I honestly don’t feel like a great teacher if I’m getting needs improvement and not proficient on all areas in my career by now.

Hey everyone, I am making this post as I’m reaching the end of my rope, and hopefully someone here can offer advise or possibly a lead on a job. As the title states, I am an Art Director in the film/television industry, and my last gig ended in November. I was planning on taking some time off for a bit, but due to the slow down ahead of the Writer’s Strike- work dried up, and it’s now been months since I’ve worked last and I’m ready for anything until the strike is over and our show picks back up.
I realize that saying up front that this would be a temporary job is dicey, but I’m really just looking for restaurant work or possibly retail just to tide me over for now as I love my career and don’t want to leave it forever. However, because I’ve not worked in food service in several years I cannot even get a response from all the applications I’ve put in.

Im having issues with my 4runner that im hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I recently went to refuel it and it would only fill half way and stop. I tried to slowly fill it but it just overfills and slowly goes down. I took it to a mechanic and they replaced both the EVAP canister and the Charcoal vapor canister filter and the issue is still there. They tried to tell me it was a specific part for the fuel tank and need to buy the whole tank which would have been a $3000 job. I told them no and when i went to pick it up they said it could be a “check valve assembly” and gave me a part number (77390-35010). Is this BS? Because i already spent $400 on repairs i dont need and i just want a straight answer on how to fix my issue.

Hi all. I’ve recently had a long journey to diagnose headaches I’ve been having everyday for six months. My primary suggested it was a sinus issue, my sinus X-ray came back clear, but he said it could be “deeper” in my sinuses (idk what he meant by that) so I made a following appointment with an ENT (I also have hearing loss and occasional positional vertigo, so the appointment was long called for).
I described my headaches and runny nose to the ENT who immediately said they sound like cluster headaches. The thing is — I know cluster headaches are also called “suicide headaches” due to the severity of pain. Mine aren’t that bad thankfully. While they do come in clusters, they can range anywhere from a 2-7 on the pain scale. I can work through them. When the pain is at a 7 I do have to stop and hold my head, but after a few seconds it dies down.
I wanted to get opinions from those who have experienced cluster headaches on her diagnosis. I also wanted to know when and how you experience the nasal drainage (mine is like water and comes before and during my attacks and is accompanied usually by feeling dizzy or lightheaded).
Also, while I do feel the pain unilaterally in one moment, the next time it hurts could switch sides. Is that anyone else’s experience?

Hello Reddit. I’m not quite sure where to start with this one. I made an erratic post earlier, and thought it would be more sensible to be more thorough to get more relevant advice/opinions. I’m nervous about getting an autism assessment and would like to know if I should, and if it’s even worth it. I don’t want to have to go through the embarrassment of doing a assessment and finding out I’m autistic but nothing changes.
I (22M) never really noticed anything different when I was a child. It was only when I got with my girlfriend at 14 I realised some of the stuff I did was considered odd, socially to her. I have used the same soap in the shower for as long as I can remember and will refuse to get a shower if I can’t have that soap. I hear small noises that she doesn’t hear all the time. This is the only thing I can remember from my childhood that made me feel different. I often hear small vibrations or noises others didn’t. I hate being touched and physically cringe at it if someone does.
My biggest worry is my anxiety and my work. I will have days where I can go out and be completely fine and confident, and others where the thought of going out makes me so anxious that I feel like I will be sick. I started a new job 7 months ago. I have days where I am great and days where I’m terrible. I’m extremely inconsistent. This is a small but important list to why I think I have autism.
This came to a blow for me a few months ago when my girlfriend told me I should be tested or she will break up with me. She said I was becoming too erratic and hard to deal with. I am never violent before anyone suggests this. I am the opposite, I am terrified of confrontation and will avoid any argument I can. I don’t want to be tested if nothing will change. I don’t think being diagnosed will make me feel any peace, I think it’ll label me for no reason. I don’t know if there is any support or medication that can/would improve my quality of life.

Unique names are welcome as long as they sound lovely! It sucks because 1 syllable names are hard with this last name - Blair Swan for example doesn’t have that same elegance.

I'm not so very active here anymore, the 'schizoid episode' timeline in my life as I like to call it is gone and I may have healed to an extent, but you all are the sanest people around considering how people work and behave and other stuff like that, so you might as well enjoy what I am about to write down below.
I am at the end of my driving lessons. Since I am still chained by the coexistence of my parents and living in our household, they generally want to hear about how the one driving lesson went. I normally just say something in the lines 'it was alright', since I don't usually excell because of my driving anxiety and other issues resulting in some driving mistakes, so I lie about this stuff. My mother is emotionally abusive in nature and I found out that if I can end the topic quickly, she will not analyze me and potentionally cause an argument (I used to be a very sensitive child before 'toughening up' as a result of abusive behavior from my mother towards me and i attribute a big part of my schizoid experience to these acts).
This time, I was not so careful. I kind of forgot to mask properly and came off as unsure about my answer and to hide this suspicion, I then said that I did one mistake. If I were her, I would take this as an answer, but apparently her own life is so boring that she needed to know what exactly the mistake was. I could've said something in the lines of 'Does it really matter,' but I was never really taught to say no and as a result learnt to mask and 'eat it up'. So I picked this one small mistake I did and told her about it, saying that it was the only mistake I did. Remember the 'small mistake'. To clarify, it was about how you as a driver can enter the intersection a bit more to get a better view, but you are in the way of that one lane traffic. Nothing too extraordinary, right? Well, aparently it was not as my parents stopped doing what they were doing and started a frenzified conversation about who was in the wrong in that situation and how I could've acted differently and how this situation can cause an accidelt and all that shit.
What the hell?? It's only a driving experience and they were so enthusiastic about... everything. I found it hard to relate to their state of mind knowing that it's just one of millions of ordinary mundane topics they could've chosen to talk about. And they were so interesten in what I did wrong and right and what could've happened and yada yada. So weird.

So about a year ago a profile requested me on Instagram and DM’d me about a week later, so it felt natural. Especially since I could see we had some mutual friends, it seemed legit. But of course that was not the case.
Innocent small talk soon turned into conversation of sending nudes and what have you. I was not thinking at all in that moment, and agreed to the whole “no screenshot” bs. Sent them and the next thing you know i’m getting threatened and harassed to send money or they’ll make me “go viral or “ruin my life” by sending them to followers or posting them to blogs. So ofc I panicked and payed thinking they’d go away and delete them but they just wouldn’t stop. So I eventually just got frustrated with it all and blocked them and totally deactivated my account. I haven’t heard anything from them, nor have my friends said anything to me about it. I kept the same snapchat and random accounts would try here and there to add me but nothing else. I haven’t attempted to even get back on Instagram because i’m worried they might find me and throw their bullshit threats at me again.
I found this thread like 3 months after it happened and it has helped me immensely with the stress and anxiety part. I’ve pretty much forgot about it and life has been good without excessive social media but there’s always that thought in the back of my mind. It would be nice to be on there and have that part of my life back again. Should I hold off longer or am I in the clear?

Does anyone know of a decent gaming laptop for college? I was hoping for something that's not too heavy and bulky, and is not flashy-looking (kind of like the MSI Stealth). Here are the things I want in a laptop:

• Lightweight:
  • I prefer not to break my back (I'm looking at you, ASUS Tuf)
• Low Profile-ish
  • I am a closeted gamer
• Good battery-life
  • I assume I won't be near a charging port most of the times, so anything that could last me at least 5 hours of normal use would be nice
• Above average specs
  • I don't really want something that's top of the line, maybe something that's enough to run modern games at medium to high settings at 60 FPS, 1080p at least
  • Examples of games I play: Ready or Not, MHW & MH:Rise, Elden Ring, etc.
• Budget friendly-ish
  • I have a budget of around $1100-ish, can go to $1200 if the jump in specs is really worth it
• Durable
  • I had a terrible experience with Asus Tuf, which pretty much died even with minimal use

I am not asking for the best laptop, I just want one that's decent enough to be reliable for both school and some light gaming. I don't really have much time to game, so I'm not looking for a machine that would give me a spectacular gaming experience either.
I would love any suggestions in this matter, including what time of the year would be best to buy one. I'm currently looking at Dell's G16, but Im not sure how good it is, given how it's using the 3060 for its GPU.

Google hubs rarely hear what I say correctly. The things I ask it to do have to be repeated 100 times.
The hub doesn’t stream my plugged in cameras for more than 5 minutes
When I first got nest prior to google taking over it worked great. Now there’s always something. I’ve invested a lot of money into google nest products
Do I need to slowly get the new model cameras and door bell etc? Is my stuff just dated at this point?

Synopsis of my story (sorry for the length): On Saturday, 5/20 in Brunswick County, North Carolina, I had one drink (Vodka Cranberry) and a large glass of water with a meal in downtown Wilmington, NC. I did not drive until 12:45am on 5/21 (almost four hours later). That night, the Brunswick Country Sheriff’s office and Shallotte PD were running a "Booze it or Loze It" DWI checkpoint. I was subjected to this DWI checkpoint. A young Shallotte PD officer asked me if I had had anything to drink during the night. Unfortunately, I thought being friendly and honest with the officer would go a long way. BIG MISTAKE! He pulled me out of the vehicle. A Lt. from the Brunswick Country Sheriff’s office then jumped in my vehicle and pulled it up farther up the freeway. He locked it, then came back and handed the keys to the officer.
The Shallotte PD officer asked if I would perform FSTs. I told him that because of multiple sports injuries and surgeries to my legs, I would have to politely decline. The Sheriff's LT heard this and became angry. He went back up to my locked vehicle and began looking through the windows with a flashlight for evidence. The Shallotte PD officer asked if I would blow into a portable breathalyzer, which I gladly accepted. I blew a .01% BAC, the lowest detectable limit of BAC. At the same time, the Sheriff's LT saw a "Yeti" aluminum cup, with a lid on it and a straw in it, in my center console. It contained water. But, the Lt loudly exclaimed, "We have an open container of alcohol!". Apparently, he has some sort of x-ray alcohol vision to look through a locked car's window, through an aluminum cup, and see alcohol. He commanded the officer, “If he won’t perform FSTs- arrest him!” (evidence on body cam)
My arrest included violations of my civil and/or constitutional rights:

1. I was never properly Mirandized after being arrested
2. I repeatedly asked to speak with an attorney. I was repeatedly denied this request

I know you all will say to "lawyer up" and get an attorney, but I refuse to pay $5k- $15k for this, at least yet. All that has to be proven in court is a "Reasonable doubt", of which there is plenty.
There are procedural things I want to do first, such as view the body evidence for myself (and take copious notes). Can anyone recommend a good paralegal in Brunswick County, North Carolina who understands this system and can help me get access to the evidence that I need?

I have a new car (below 15k miles) and it had started making a loud humming noise while driving. It does not happen all the time, usually after accelerating then maintaining speed will the hum happen. Even in this scenario the noise only happens every other time. The unique part of this issue is that the noise will not happen if I crack open my driver window. And if the noise is actively happening and I open my driver window it will stop the noise. I tried doing some research on humming noise and read that it could be a bad wheel or bearing. I tried changing wheels but no luck and I believe that bearing might not be the issue due to the noise not being consistent. Does anyone have some idea on what could be causing this issue or point me in another direction?

I just watched Cant get you outta my head and I really liked it. Imo it provides a reasonable explanation as to how we got to where we are societally and politically in the west. It provides an explanation as to why politics seems to have stopped, life is getting more confusing weird, and why nothing seems to be changing anymore.

I had a rough day at the range yesterday with my irons and pulled out my hybrid and starting hitting that consistently. So I tried hitting my irons the same way I swing my hybrid (hitting the back of the ball and not down on it.). It seemed to fix all the problems I was having.-clean contact, good distance, didn’t thin or fat any shots.
Should I continue hitting my irons this way or am I just building bad habits that will bite me later on?

Has anyone here ever knitted a koozy for beverages? I am going to make some for my family’s vacation, and I have found many excellent patterns, but I can’t decide what the best fiber would be between wool, cotton, or acrylic. The patterns themselves have no consistency - some recommend cotton, some the cheapest acrylic, some 100% merino. As usual, it seems like most of them are just recommending the yarn that they or their sponsors produce, so I’m unsure what the best option would be.
My gut tells me that a wool/acrylic blend might work best, since it has the potential to be stretchier and insulate well. The pattern is also for fingering weight yarn, so it would easy to find sock yarn in many colors that is a wool/nylon blend. Does anyone have experience making these, and if so, what did you use and how did it work out? Also, if it matters, these are MOSTLY for the purpose of covering the can, as it is the rule at the beach where we’re going, but insulation is obviously a nice bonus!
