Hello everyone,
This post is directed towards individuals who are suffering from Hidradenitis Suppurativa, aka HS. We have clinical study that is in the recruitment and enrollment process for a new treatment called Povorcitinib. In comparison to Humira, this medication is a JAK-STAT inhibitor whereas Humira is a monoclonal antibody. In terms of administration, this drug is a daily oral tablet as opposed to a biweekly injection. This is extremely beneficial because many individuals favor an oral tablet in comparison to needles/injections. In terms of location, this study is taking place in Southern California. With regards to the specifics of the trial, study visits will take place in three-week intervals with numerous different tests and assessments being conducted throughout its duration. The trial is also placebo-controlled, which essentially refers to the fact that you could potentially not receive the medication for the first 12 weeks. Once the 12 week period ends however, every patient will be on the actual medication for the remainder of the trial.
Because the study visit schedule is somewhat busy, we are primarily looking for candidates in the Southern California area. Nonetheless, if you have the capabilities of meeting the study schedule requirements and are located in Northern California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah or Colorado, we would love to have you come in for a screening visit to see if you qualify. Our study site is located near multiple bus depots, train stations, and airports and may be able to assist with travel expenses.
For those individuals across the country however, do not be discouraged. This study is just getting ramped up and is the process of recruitment throughout the country. It will be conducted throughout the United States and various European countries. Nevertheless, they are still in the early stages of activating other locations. Hi guys,
I am a D1 student athlete at my university and I feel like that in particular is giving me a hard time when it comes to clinical experience. I just wanted to post here and see if there were any athletes that were/are in the same boat? If so, what did you do to help get the experience? I have a MA certification and very little clinical experience with newborns(about 200ish hours as a newborn hearing screener) and I've been trying for over a year to get something part-time pertaining to being an MA, but it just isn't feasible schedule-wise with practice and classes.
Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

We're in England.
A couple of months ago our dog was attacked by an off leash dog. The dogs handler claimed it wasn't his dog and would only give his number not any other details, so my husband took his photo, and a photo of the dog. We tried contacting them, but they ignored our calls to arrange for payment of our vet fees.
We then posted the photo online and through that way found out it was the guy's dad's dog, and suddenly he was answering his messages when we said we'd reach out to his dad. He then started claiming he was avoiding us and lied to us about ownership because HE was afraid which is laughable because my husband was incredibly calm, and also there were witnesses to support this.
Through this post we also discovered the dog had attacked two other dogs that week.
They've been interviewed under caution by the police, and admitted to everything. The police say they've got a community protection order on the owners/dog so we're happy with that. However, the police have backpedalled and said we can't submit a FOI for their details in order to take them to small claims - the owners continue to ignore post and phone communications regarding payment. The police also gave my husband a lecture about putting people's photos online which I'm not even sure is against the law, we certainly would never have found out their identity otherwise.
Anyway, is it legally possible for us to get their address through FOI to start small claims, or do we even need this if we have a digital paper trail?

I’m in a really difficult position with my dog, a 4 year old black lab mix. We adopted him from the pound 4 years ago when he was 6 months old. From the beginning his behavior and aggression have been a serious issue despite our best efforts. As a puppy we engaged in structured play with other dogs but could not continue due to his aggression. We took him to group dog training but he was kicked out because he was aggressive with the other dogs. He has always displayed aggression to all other animals and all people except my wife and I. He has attacked our cats and other dogs of family members. Thankfully he has never attacked our kids but he is aggressive with them, especially our youngest. He will growl at him if he goes near him or tries to interact with him. Most recently he attacked my mother in laws elderly dog unprovoked and drew blood. We have tried many avenues including training and even medication over the past 4 years and his aggression seems to only be getting worse. My family and I are at the point where we need to do something with him in the interest of everyone’s safety. I’m looking for some advice or options from people who had similar experiences. Would the best thing to do be to have him euthanized at the vet? Humane society? Are there sanctuaries for aggressive dogs (I live in SW US) Thank you.

Sunday I purchased a monitor from someone who was keeping the baby in a cricket cage... Got the baby set up in a new tank with a quickly set up enclosure (I read wiki) first day he/she was basking and even ate a cricket super active. But yesterday I came in to see they had flung substrate in their water bowl to burrow.. I want to take them to the vet for a wellness check but I'm not sure how to go about picking them up or if I should just try and wait the 2 weeks for them to get used to the new enclosure.. just not sure if they've got worms or any pressing medical issues.

Hello everyone, right now I am going through recruitment process where the final step is background check for criminality, drug addiction and financial situation. I submitted all documents for vetting and 5 weeks later I received a message that SÄPO requires my PN (right now I am living outside Sweden and it is deactivated). I sent my old PN, but already 7 weeks have passed and I have not received any final decision although in the beginning it was promised that criminal check will be done within 4 - 6 weeks.
How do you think what could be the issue why this process has been so long? I tried to get information from the corresponding vetting department but they do not reveal how far the process has gone. I had lived in Sweden before and had no problems with the law and it surprises me that the background check takes so much resources as if I had some kind of mobster background...

Hi, just wanted to say hi and that im new here. I am a 45 y/o diabled vet who likes to cook, long walks on the beac.....oh sorry wrong website. Who am i kidding, i cant go on long walks or cook anymore. Anyways now the funny is out of the way, i have chronic crps in my left leg. I have had a total of 8 knee surgeries on that knee from the first being a meniscus repair to the last being a rotating hinged joint.
For three or so years i have complained to my PCP about the pain, the redness, the bald spots on my leg, the tingling, the stabbing, the beads of sweat in small areas ect and nothing. I finally got the outside ortho they sent me to to recognize what it is and he sent me to a pain specialist. They have tried almost everything to help the pain but nothing works anymore. Ive tried opioids, different injections, kratom dosing, weed and others and well no relief. So come the 1st of June i get my trial stimulator in. I pray it helps as any relief is better than the current none i get. I have a high pain tolerance and its hard for me to tell people that i am at an 8 which would be most peoples 11 or 12 out of the 0-10 pain scale.

• I am out-of-state in FL due to a family emergency and would be alone with no one to care for me if I went back to WY.

• I was denied for Medicaid but approved for Healthcare.gov - my cheapest offered plan is $509/month w/a $7k deductible, but I have no income…
• I’ve already seen a doctor who said it very much sounds like a gallbladder issue and said my family history points to it, but we did not do diagnostic testing because they are a sliding scale health clinic that does not have the equipment and the place they would refer me out to does not offer a discount or sliding scale based on income. (I live in Casper, WY so this is the only budget option I had to my investigations.)
• I don’t want to wait to until it becomes an emergency (I’d been previously advised to do this because I couldn’t be denied treatment). However, I’d like to avoid an emergency bill without insurance or assistance - it would take me years to pay off and I’m really trying to stay out of debt right now.

The Goals:

• Get surgery to remove my gallbladder within the next few weeks - this includes diagnostics to fully confirm.
• Find some kind of other insurance or assistance that is more reasonably priced or doesn’t have a HUGE deductible.

Side Quests:

• How long do you have to pay a hospital bill once received? ER or not.
• Do ERs do sliding scale payments based on income?
• Will I be billed more to use an ER in a state I don’t live in?

Its not super hardcore, we are a bit casual compared to most trials giilds, and to be honest, we lost a lot of players that we trained, to hardcore TRIALS GUILDS. This is just me venting :) I want to hear your opinions and personal experience as well.
I enjoy working in the healthcare sector as (sounds a bit egoistic ) I would say I’m a very friendly and warm-hearted person, I will always offer help to anybody regardless. I tend to lend a listening ear and cater to other’s needs. I may contradict myself a few times (so please mind me, I’m young and just confused). Also I’m abit soft-hearted so I could just be sensitive…
I started working in this sector a few months ago and surprisingly, I enjoy working. However, I’m quite shocked at the number of patients with shitty attitudes with the “you owe me your life” attitude.
I always greet everyone with a warm smile and try to lighten the mood. But some entitled people just really ruin my day. I understand we’re somewhat in the “service” line but we’re all human and we do not deserve your shitty attitude. You may have had a bad day, but do not vent it on us especially when we’re trying to help you.
For example, for procedure ( it’s not that I want to, but its SOP), we will ask patients with ARI symptoms, whether they have taken an ART test, and they will get SUPER offended and say things like “Now still need take ART ah? For what sia?” or like “Now still need wear mask ah, so long already”. and like “ Ya, obviously.”
Auntie please 😭 I’m just asking to take note it isn’t life of death ok 😭 It’s the SOP I have to follow…
Another example is, we have to ask patients why they are visiting and their symptoms (to put in notes and so that the doctor will know and prepare beforehand). So like maybe ARI, NON-ARI, review report etcetc. Then they will be like “See Doctor la, then for what?” “I tell you for what”. And at that point, I’d just give up, I’ll just ask if they have ARI symptoms, if not, I can’t help them anymore, I can’t put anything in my notes to doctor. But at rare times, if it’s regarding private issues, we’d understand. BUT NOT THOSE ENTITLED PEOPLE WHO REFUSE TO TALK TO THE STAFF/NURSES ABOUT THEIR SYMPTOMS JUST BECAUSE WE DONT HAVE A DEGREE FROM NUS.
My heart breaks when I have to deal with difficult patients, ( but yet again, part and parcel of life, can’t be avoided) I’m desperately trying to help you with my abilities so all I ask is just basic respect.
So please to all, if you ever visit a hospital/clinic, please be patient and understand that we’re trying to help you no matter how tired we are. If the staff/nurse is rude to you, thumbs down for them, you don’t deserve it. But if you can see, that we’re warm and friendly upon your arrival, please be nice :) and ask for help if you need!
So to summarise, please be understanding and patient towards us, healthcare workers ok! Don’t be entitled as well ! If you’re having a bad day, don’t vent on us , but we will give you the same warm greetings and professional/friendly exchanges!

I'm 26 female and have been with my Highschool sweetheart for more than 10 years now. 7 years back I was diagnosed with clinical depression and severe anxiety disorder, life has been very difficult after that. I have been on medication and therapy since then. My boyfriend is 25 and we have been in a long distance relationship. We both wished to get married before 2026 and everything seemed fine. Lately, I made the decision that I wish to stay in State A because I enjoy the climate here and property prices aren't that high and I would be able to own an independent home with a small garden area. I'm an introvert. He is an extrovert, he said that there is no way he is ever coming to State A and would prefer to end the relationship, and move on with someone else (even if it is an arranged marriage by his parents). I told him that he will have good career opportunities in this part of the country as well but he blatantly said 'no'. I discussed this with my mother, she said that if he is not ready to understand why having an open spaced home is necessary for you instead of living in apartments/flats then he is not the right person for you. He said that I will build a similar home for you but give me 10 or 15 years, but I already have the option of a home.Why should I waste these many years cramped? I know I can't expect him to move here but how can he expect me to move to different cities in a few years. I tried explaining why this arrangement is beneficial for my mental health and this will provide me with an order which I crave. I attempted suicide last week, things were horrible. I sat down with my parents and therapist, came up with the plan to have my own space which I would be in complete control of. The thought of it brings peace to me. I thought he would understand but he is trying his best to end things and not even giving it a thought.

I am aware of vestibular disease and its relation to old age (have been researching on it all day since symptoms started). I might just be feeling more anxious than usual because he is an old dog with a number of health problems and started spiralling worrying this might be his last days.
My dog was recently diagnosed with skin cancer and went through surgery to patch up a non-healing wound that has not healed for over a year. He has a pretty bad heart murmur and is on medication for his kidneys, heart, and liver. His recent blood report (2 weeks ago) revealed a huge improvement in his liver condition (very low risk now) but his kidney condition is still bad.
Observations since then: He has definitely started drinking a lot of water since the beginning of the year, pants a lot more often after being put on medication (about 2 months ago), pees a lot, has been picky since young but has recently been eating more of food he likes (sometimes we mix cooked chicken into his can food). Still extremely excitable, barks as usual and shows a lot of enthusiasm when encouraged to play, runs around and can still walk.
Main concern: I have been notified by my mother that he vomited quite a bit this morning out of nowhere, and I noticed he had been slightly wobbly and flopping over the night before. He has a head tilt that developed this morning and I was gone for the day until tonight, where his head tilt has improved but still shows up every 10 minutes or so. He can still run and walk properly, but has trouble standing properly if I pick him up and put him down. Also struggles to maintain a laid down position on his side and keeps flopping back up into a lying down on his stomach position. Has no issues lying down, but his hind legs skid a bit when he gets up.
Is this cause for concern? I have no idea what to do as I am unable to bring him to the vet until tomorrow. I am extremely paranoid of him passing tonight while we are asleep (it is currently 2am). The vet gave us an estimate of his lifespan being about around 2 or 3 years more given his cancer, so I am mentally unprepared if it is going to happen tonight. I have no idea if these are symptoms of the end and I don't know if I am worrying needlessly. He still eats and shows enthusiasm for playing and runs after us fine, aside from the head tilt and occasional imbalance and wobbly legs that started last night. Any help would be really very appreciated. Thank you.

The county sheriff Sargent got in contact with the district attorney about my SA case and the district attorney said my case will not be moving forwarded because they only got my statement and there wasn’t any physical evidence to further it. I feel completely failed right now by my states system. I don’t know what else to do. My ex-friend who SA’d me from my college is out and about acting like nothing happened while he’s having 2 jobs and also has a girlfriend which is very concerning. After hearing what the Sargent has told me that my ex-friend refused more than once on his statement and threatening to take action with a lawsuit speaks volumes that he knows he’s wrong with what he did to me by trying to take away my innocence. I was told though by the Sargent that I can still go to district court to file a restraining order anonymously for protection in case if he tries to retaliate against me. It’s such a small town that I’m in that I’m so afraid he could run into me with bad intentions. I just don’t want to have to deal with him anymore after all the trauma that happened.

So I feel like I am all alone. It is myself, my husband, our girlfriend, and our daughter. Until this last weekend we had my 15 y/o son as well. But he decided to move back in with his dad.
In the last month our apartments (government subsidized housing) doubled our rent from $210 to $434. Our gas got shut off. My son moved out. I had my dad's memorial ceremony (he passed 2 years ago but too many feelings at the time for anyone to handle it). Finances are like, non existent. I had to borrow money from my sons birthday money to put gas in my car! (Something I swore I would never do)
I work 15-20 hours a week as a home health aide. My husband is currently fighting for disability (MD) Our girlfriend works 40 hours a week at the local hospital as a CNA. You would think with my and her paychecks we would be fine. Nope. Our bills still outweigh what we make. Between our car payments, insurances, utilities, her storage unit, vet bills, and credit card debts for both of us... We are struggling. Plus, when she moved in she started paying utilities, but was accidentally paying from her bank account on her OLD gas account not the new one. So when we thought it was being payed we found out we were 3 months behind! Hence the shut off.
Then, to top that off, the house is a disaster. No one wants to clean after themselves. There are stacks of dishes and laundry everywhere. And I just want to cry. I do what I can but with work and trying to get my teaching degree I just don't have the energy. Plus with it being as bad as it is I am so overwhelmed I don't even know where to start. And I get so angry with my husband and girlfriend because he is home all day and she just sleeps or hides upstairs on her days off. But I feel like a butthole because he has a medical condition that keeps him from standing for long and she works longer hours than I do.

So for context, 2 of my 4 dogs deal with green eye discharge and allergy symptoms around this time every year. When it first started happening a few years back, my vet advised eyedrops (just saline) and zyrtec to manage symptoms until it passed. So we typically do not take them in to be checked unless they have prolonged symptoms. This year all four of my dogs are having the gross eye discharge so Sunday morning I gave everyone a dose of Zyrtec snd flushed all 8 eyeballs with saline. My Doberman is not usually affected by allergies and has never been given Zyrtec up until Sunday. I noticed Sunday night that my Doberman’s third eyelid is covering 1/4 of his right eye. Skipped Zyrtec yesterday (Monday). Today the third eyelid is still covering 1/4 of the eye. He has no other symptoms. My vet is out of town until next Monday and my doberman already has an appointment for his yearly next week. I called to see if anyone else could see him this week but since Monday was a holiday and they are short staffed they have no availability.
So my question, is this common with allergies? Could it be irritation of the eye causing it or could it have been the Zyrtec? He has been given Trazodone in the past for nerves and it makes his eyes look the same (third eyelids out , looked high as hell) but it affected both eyes and obviously they went back to normal when meds wore off. The tech I spoke with at our vet didn’t seem concerned but Im not sure if she really knew what I was trying to explain either. She just said to mention it to our doc at his appointment next week and continue allergy routine if he isn’t having negative symptoms from it.

I watched mostly US TV shows (and sometimes the odd movie). Recently there is a Asian wave over there (mostly Korean + Michelle Yeoh) and I also notice we have some Singapore veteran actoactress doing well over there.

1. Yeo Yann Yann (A big supporting role in Disney American Born Chinese and she acted well). OK technically she is Malaysian but she was born in JB and act as Singaporean in many Singapore movies.

I have not watch Mediacorp TV shows (English or Mandarin) for decades now so I only know of people like Xiang Yun, Fann Wong and none of the younger ones.
So my question is if our veteran actors/actress are trying over in Hollywood, is any of our younger ones even giving it a go ? I mean these vets are older and must been trying for a long time and I thought young people are more ambitious and willing to explore ?
This is a genuine question and I am curious as I do not know the local industry now. I started thinking about this while watching American Born Chinese.
Fun facts - I did watch quite a lot of Yeo Yann Yann movies and also caught Tan Kheng Hua in a play in my younger days and actually saw her kissing a woman during break.

Is it just me or does anyone else find it strange that there seems to be a surge in Facebook hackings. Also seeing the Meta subscriptions ads that has listed as a perk, a live person to talk to if you have problems. Seems like a very easy way to get many as possible switched over to the subscription plan. My whole family was hacked, then it got kinda serious. I'm repeatedly trying the Facebook recovery process. I'm on the compromised account page, put my email address and the standard bubble pops up. But it gives me a number sayiny to call Facebook security. They answered using my name. Run me thru a security check to prove I wasn't the hacker. They freaking knew all my info. What I didn't know was they had been able to remote access my phone, including bank app. So they helped themselves to 3 $1000 zelle payment and $3,500 in debit card crypto purchases. Wells Fargo is basicly like, fuck you. Those were done inside the account, which is true. Just wasnt me and there is no other authorized user. So I'm guessing the FBI and FTC will have to sort it out. I'm a 100% disabled vet who deals with high anxiety on a regular basis. Wells Fargo and Facebook don't give a fuck about us
