I'll often lurk on facebook marketplace's PC section to see if there's any steals- but it's often people either 1. selling for about what they bought the PC for 7 years ago, despite the fact the parts are out of date or 2. doesn't realize that the PC market is largely based on $ per performance, so just because their Ryzen 3 1200 is valued at $100 on Amazon doesn't mean it's actually worth that much.
Right now there's been a influx of builds that are generally some version of a Ryzen 3600 + 1050ti build that people are trying to sell for like $800-1,000. I'd be interested in a few of them for parts alone, I'm trying to do a mid tier build and a lot of these builds are bottlenecked by an old GPU, which I'd like to upgrade and maybe save some money. I've struggled with trying to find a way to explain to people who don't seem to know that much about PCs that what they're asking for is absolutely insane. Obviously people can charge however much they want- but I can only see these builds being bought by others who don't know anything about PCs. Any advice or is this a lost cause?

I have been looking into kinesis boards for a while due to an ongoing RSI that I am managing. I was planning on getting a freestyle due to the affordability compared to the advantage series and maybe upgrade in the future if I found it helpful. I decided to take a quick look on Facebook marketplace before pulling the trigger on a new freestyle and I found an pre owned (but unused) Advantage 1 for a good price, and decided to go for that instead. Let me say that I am so happy I went with the Advantage and not the freestyle. The ortholinear keys and thumb keys are absolute game changers. There is a bit of a leaving curve, but this is mostly due to me unlearning bad habits (incorrect finger used for certain keys). If you already touch type with correct form I suspect the transition would be very easy. After two days I am already seeing my speed return to normal and my accuracy has improved a lot (as compared to my previous baseline).
If you are on the fence between the freestyle and one of the advantage boards - go for the advantage. This is by far the most comfortable keyboard I have ever used.

I put up a ton of ads selling warhammer in the past few days, and woke up to a notification simply stating "You are no longer allowed to buy or sell on Facebook". I clicked it and it took me to a page that just says "Marketplace is not available to you". No apparent review or appeal process. Which is exactly the level of responsibility I've come to expect from Facebook.
Any ideas on fixing this? I'm going to put them on reddit too but I had 15 messages waiting for me on items this morning that now will not let me reply.
Best guess? A bot decided it was against weapons policy. I already had two ads flagged, reviewed and put back up by Facebook. No idea why it suddenly decided my entire account was banned from selling in groups I'm a member of, it's not like I was posting in general marketplace.

Wanted to make this post because Im on my third egg retrieval (tomorrow!) I feel really privileged sharing this but I hope it helps people when they’re deciding WHERE to go for IVF.
My first two were in LA with UCLA. I’ve had the same exact insurance this entire time. (Empire) My doctor in LA was fine, she was in network at UCLA. All my meds, blood work and ultrasounds were covered. But the moment I stepped in that surgery center to get my ER, I was out of network. Even though it was the same exact doctor extracting my eggs. Oh, and ICSI, assisted hatching, etc was all extra costs. Genetic testing was like 4,000$. To get my eggs retrieved it was thousands of dollars out of pocket even though I had coverage. At one point, I had gotten reimbursed like 1200$ from my insurance, and a year later my insurance went after me for that 1200$ because they meant to pay it to my doctor?!?!? I had to pay it back! to top it all off, I had to pay for embryo storage. Like 750$. Ok, fine!
A few years later I moved to upstate NY. Mind you, I have the same exact coverage. I wanted to do more IVF because my embryos with my ex were in LA and I’m seeing someone new. CNY fertility was recommended to me, so I went there. Took about a month to get a consult scheduled, which was fine. Everyone has been kind, knowledgeable, the building they’re in seems like it’s state of the art and I think they do everything in house. The syracuse location is BUSY! I learned that to thrive there you really need to know what you’re doing and what questions to ask. Communication with nurses has been super smooth.
Anyways, ultrasounds and blood work are fully covered. The nurses keep asking me about doing ICSI and assisted hatching and genetic testing and I’m just like - I can’t afford it! So I put it off and say maybe, because maybe I’ll scrounge some money together for it. I’m just preparing myself for the embryo storage fee. For this round, meds cost me $180. I get a call this morning, one day away from egg retrieval, expecting to pay so much out of pocket, from my insurance company. They told me that CNY submitted prior authorizations for egg retrieval, ICSI, assisted hatching, and embryo storage - and it all was approved. I couldn’t believe it. I actually cried on the call. Now I can actually afford genetic testing - which is only 200$ an embryo with CNY.
This experience with CNY really took the stress out of IVF for me. I’ve had an ectopic pregnancy, tube removed, oophorectomy, and 4 surgeries for endometriosis. Removing the insurance stress when I didn’t even ask them to really puts into perspective how much money and energy I wasted out west.
Do your research and don’t settle for anybody out of network if you can. I regret not asking more questions with my LA doctor regarding that. It’s a weird trick being in network until you’re full of follicles and they tell you they’re out of network.
(Also - is it common to get all of this covered under insurance? I guess I feel traumatized from my LA experience)

Hello everyone,
I currently hate my job. I'm young (23M) and make okay money through it but like I said, I hate my job. I've recently been thinking about starting a "luxury" or "deluxe" mobile bathroom rental business in my area. I live in a small town in southern middle TN and live near a couple bigger cities (all within an hour drive) and there are no business around here, that I've seen or researched, doing this. There are a few porta potty businesses but nothing offering the service I am trying to offer.
I'm sure you've seen them before. This is nothing new and nothing extravagant. It's a mobile bathroom on a trailer that is nicer than a porta potty. Simple as that. Plans are to rent them out for parties, weddings, events, etc.
Due to living in small town and having relationships with bankers and having good credit I'm very confident I could get a business loan to start out. But, that is intimidating. I'm only looking to take out a $20k business loan for these things.
Here is a simple breakdown of the initial start up costs. Sorry if this is unprofessional but these prices aren't set in stone as I will be looking around different shops, stores, and Facebook marketplace for the best deals.
8-10k - Nice enclosed trailer or flatbed trailer
3-5k - Upfitting the trailer (drywall, plumbing, etc.)
3-5k - Advertising and miscellaneous costs
I already own a truck to haul the trailer with.
I'd like some advice on entrepreneurship. My goal is for this to replace my 9-5 job so I can be my own boss. How much do you think I should charge (on average) for this service? Any advice to give for someone who is young and inexperienced in starting a business? Any general advice at all?
A future thank you to anyone who has anything nice to say or advice to give. I'm really considering pulling the trigger on this but am intimidated by the loan and never owning a business before.

For real, some of you act like you’re constantly barraged with gifts; living out your own personal story of Sisyphus. Seems to be a spike in "how do I deal with gifts" posts. Being minimalist doesn’t mean you’re minimal about solutions.
And frankly, it's not only the physical gift but the emotional one, too. Someone took the effort to give you something because they care. Oh, the humanity.
If nothing works, the nuclear option still exists: just throw it away.

- Sell it. Maybe on Facebook Marketplace (they have a “don’t let friends see” option). Or Ebay.
- Re-gift it. Congrats, now you don’t have to shop. Or now you have emergency gifts you can dip into. Or maybe there’s someone you know that could actually use it. Join your local Facebook "buy nothing" group.
- Tell them exactly what you want. It might take time to get it into their heads but keep telling them exactly what you want. One story: a couple told their parents to stop giving them physical gifts and give them the gift of babysitting. In other words, the grandparents would babysit their grandkids as a gift.
- And if you keep getting physical gifts you don’t want (like you’re a vegan getting beef jerky all the time), just smile and accept it and use one the first 2 solutions. I'm sure someone would happily scoop up free beef jerky on your local "buy nothing" group.
And frankly, it's not only the physical gift but the emotional one, too. Someone took the effort to give you something because they care. Oh, the humanity.
If nothing works, the nuclear option still exists: just throw it away.
