2023.05.30 18:45 The_DOC52 2 locks and the key day 8
This is my series of betting on MGM's 2 most expected winners (lowest odds) and adding in an underdog I think will win.
MGM Individual picks: 9-3. MGM Locks: 3-3. Underdog of the day: 4-2. Parlay win/loss: 3-3 Total win/loss if $100 wagered: +$1,103
Oh boy. Where to start. Probably the 10 run gap the giants had over Pittsburgh. That was a bad pick on my part. Surely no one else from the Parlay suffered a huge lose.... Cough cough ATL. But good job, Dodgers taking a win. Speaking of, both of those teams are on the block again with even more expectation to win.
MGM locks: Dodgers -300 / Braves -250. Run it back! Same as yesterday.
The key: Yankees +115. I so so so badly want to run the exact same parlay today with the pirates, but let's mix it up. New York has managed 10 runs 2 games in a row, so let's see them do it again, bats are hot. Mariners have a good arm throwing today but we'll see how it goes.
Parlay: Dodgers -300 / Braves -250 / Yankees +115. Odds: +301
BOL, IM NOT A BASEBALL/STAT GENIUS, THIS IS JUST A RANDOM FUN EXPERIMENT FOR ME, TAIL AT YOUR OWN RISK. * THIS ONE IS A LAST MINUTE THROW TOGETHER BECAUSE ITS BEEN A HECTIC COUPLE DAYS AT WORK. SORRY FOR NO IM DEPTH ANALYSIS *

2023.05.30 18:45 ThatOneTunisianKid Advice on growing and caring for white onions seedlings?
Hey everyone, just transplanted some white onion seedlings into my garden 2 days ago. It's my second year doing onions, last years I did sweet onions and they did alright, they were on the smaller side of the average but it was still enjoyable. I live in Central New York State and was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice on how to best tend to my onions?
I've heard watering 1 or 2 times a week is enough, but it looks like it's gonna be a hot summer (high 80's this whole week) and I don't know if I need to water them more or stick to that regimen. Any advice would be appreciated

I met two irl corgs this weekend, here is one of them
What you may have missed last week...
Spotify Playlist here, remember if a band has a * next to their name it means it isn't on spotify (yet).
Recommendations of the Week
The drama around the circumstances that led to a change in singer for Gloryhammer has been beaten to death. It doesn't change the fact that they have their sound, do it well, and Sozos Michael is a damn good singer. The single sounds more like original Rhapsody than anything any version of that band has released in years.
Wytch Hazel play a very distinctive style of 70s rock and sound great in the process. I don't love where the vocals are on the mix for the singles but the album should still be good.
Gloryhammer is pretty much what you expect. Even with a new singer and sounding more like Rhapsody of Fire (it's not just this single) it's Gloryhammer. While it's technically sound, I'm still lukewarm on Sozos Michael for Gloryhammer. Granted, I've never been "wowed" by his vocals, but they've never been bad, so this is probably just me.
Wytch Hazel is the real winner here. I was/am a huge fan of their previous work and this feels like a progression from their last album. Basically, anyone who likes the 70's rock sound of Thin Lizzy or Blue Oyster Cult will enjoy this.
Wytch Hazel describe themselves as "if NWOBHM existed 700 years ago" which is pretty accurate. Very 70s hard rock/early heavy metal vibes, if you like bands like Tanith, Wishbone Ash, etc, you'll like Wytch Hazel. I got my copy of this vinyl through already and if you already like Wytch Hazel, you're in for a treat, I think this is my favourite release of theirs yet.
You already know if you're going to listen to Gloryhammer or not I'm sure.
If you're a fan of late 70s/early 80s Swedish hard rock/heavy metal (and honestly, who isn't) then you'll love Tyrann's sound.
And a light rec for Project: Roenwolfe
Holiday.

2023.05.30 18:39 Napaboy Trunk Dents / Choques en Cajuelas
I am observer, at the first I saw that my car (sedan) had a little dent in the midle of the corner of the trunk, I really wonder how or when it was made, because I have never crashed, and that part of the trunk is very high and separate of the back bumper so if someone would crashed me, in a parking lot for example, that part of the trunk would never been touched. I know, I know that some people would say that when they opened the trunk door it hit with something, but the thing is that the force when the trunk opens is not very hard, it is just the necesary to release the trunk but not open it all, and in the other hand, if fomeone opened it manually then how could it hit with sometehing if the person is standed just behind taking care of it?
After That i was one of my neighborgs had a liitle dent in almost the same part of his car... and after this, more and more cars have very similar trunk dents, so I started to take a picture of them to get register of that couriosity....and afterall, I'm still wondering why, when or how those trunk dents were made.
Here I will be posting all the pictures that I have about this and the new ones that I take.
No hate please, This post is just to share this curiosity.
-------------

2023.05.30 18:38 FireGodGoSeeknFire Baliasta: Catapult Buff/Replacement
I find catapults to be particularly sad piece in that they are only useful in situations where their army is tactically dominant anyway.
The obvious thing is to give them Dash, but that's just too much. Now you have this surprise killing machine.
Instead I propse Balista: Cost 8 Health 10 Attack 2 Defense 1 Range 3 Move 1
Abilities Kinetic: Attack multiplier = Range - TargetDist + 1 Surprise Persist
The new ability Kinetic boosts Attack in proportion to unused range. (Concept is more Kinetic energy) A target three spaces away faces an Attack of 2 A target two spaces away faces an Attack of 4 A target adjacent to Balista faces an Attack of 6
As if that wasn't enough Surprise prevents adjacent targets from firing back. Targets with ranged abilities are likewise prevented.
These two together make charging a Balista a dangerous proposition. But the pièce de résistance is Persist.
After killing one target Balista can keep shooting so long as it keeps killing. That adds a heighten level of strategy because with well planned set of melee attacks the Balista could wind up finishing off 3, 4, even 5 or more pieces at highest range.
Likewise try to bum rush a Balista in hopes of destroying the thing has to be well planned or else risk repeated point blank destruction from that Kinetic Attack of 6.
All together we have a versatile piece with enormous potential power but only if well planned.
Lastly, while the primary motivation for renaming it Balista is to backup the Kinetic feature the form also provides the opportunity for some really cool art. .

2023.05.30 18:36 Green_Crypto_Pay Bitcoin vs Ethereum: differences as a technology and payment method
Bitcoin and Ether are the world's best-known cryptocurrencies that have largely shaped blockchain technology and the modern view of finance. In this article, we will delve into the differences between BTC and ETH in terms of technology, use cases and how each cryptocurrency has performed as an investment.
Bitcoin as the first cryptocurrency Created in 2008, bitcoin was the first decentralised currency that could be sent between peer-to-peer nodes without the need for an intermediary. The concept of its developer, Satoshi Nakamoto, was to create a secure, available and government-free digital asset — and since bitcoin has become the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalisation. Over the years, the 'digital gold' has been mined, bought and sold with trillions of dollars worth.
Ethereum as the 'global computer' Ethereum, launched in 2015, has become a global decentralised computer platform of a new type. Vitalik Buterin's motivation for development of the new technology was the limited functionality of Bitcoin: the programmer wanted to create a platform that would allow the development of decentralised apps (DApps) not limited to financial transactions.
Ethereum soon became one of the most widely used blockchain platforms in the world, supporting thousands of DApps and digital assets, including stablecoins, NFT and DeFi. Ethereum's native cryptocurrency, Ether, which is used to pay for transactions and power the network, is consistently ranked second in market capitalisation after bitcoin.
BTC vs ETH: differences as a technology The Bitcoin blockchain and the Ethereum network differ significantly in terms of technology, including functionalities, use cases and scalability:
- Miners vs Stakers The most notable difference is the consensus mechanism each blockchain uses. Bitcoin uses the Proof of Work (PoW) algorithm, while Ethereum uses Proof of Stake (PoS). Thus, while bitcoin miners solve complex mathematical problems therein validating transactions and adding new blocks to the blockchain, Ethereum validators stake — lock up Ether in a smart contract as collateral.
- Transactions vs smart contracts Bitcoin and Ethereum use different scripting languages. Bitcoin leverages a more simple language limiting the blockchain's functionality to basic transactions. Ethereum, on the other hand, hosts smart contracts which can be created by users with any new rules, in addition to influencing token creation and governance systems. Smart contracts support the operation of decentralised apps, making transactions reliable, secure and transparent without the help of third parties.
- Block size and scalability The Bitcoin blockchain has a block size limit of 1 MB, which caps the number of transactions processed per second to around 7. As a consequence, the network becomes congested, has slow confirmation times and high transaction fees. Layer 2 solutions help reduce transaction costs and increase speed, but bitcoin's scalability is still a common concern among the crypto community. The Ethereum blockchain was built with more scalability in mind. It handles 15 to 30 transactions per second. However, layer 2 solutions for Ethereum are improving, which will allow for faster and cheaper transactions in the future.
BTC vs ETH: which has more use cases?
Both BTC and ETH can be held in
wallets, exchanged for other currencies, sent/received, loaded onto crypto debit cards and spent directly with merchants.
Bitcoin, being a digital ledger book, has relatively limited use cases compared to Ethereum, but it is an excellent choice as a store of value.
Ethereum, on the other hand, was designed with scalability and flexibility in mind, as well as the need to interact with thousands of DApps and experiences like lending/borrowing, NFTs and video games. Thus, in this term, Ethereum outperforms Bitcoin.
BTC vs ETH: which is the better investment? Bitcoin and Ether are popular investments among the crypto community. Both currencies are a scarce resource and their prices are impacted by supply and demand. The price of ETH is also impacted by advances in technology and use cases. BTC, on the other hand, is in a more ossified environment, resulting in less risk and less upside potential in the future.
Thus, Ether now has more potential in the long term as it has clearer, more extensive and rapidly evolving use cases. Still, all cryptocurrencies are highly volatile and susceptible to unpredictable market fluctuations.
BTC vs ETH: which is better for crypto payments? Both currencies are widely used for making payments, but 'digital gold' remains more popular:
Bitcoin makes up over 40% of all crypto transactions, whereas
Ether makes up around 11%. In addition, bitcoin transaction fees are usually lower, and many merchants prefer to accept payments in this currency.
Ethereum requires less confirmation time and supports not only Ether, but thousands of tokens and stablecoins, bringing price stability to the crypto-world. So in any case, the choice is up to you.
It's impossible to say definitively which is better — Bitcoin or Ethereum. Both systems are valuable but offer two different approaches. If you are looking for a stable, long-term solution and are willing to take moderate risk, Bitcoin is a good option. But if your goal is to earn multiple returns on investment, to participate in DApps development and to be the first to interact with innovations, take a closer look at Ethereum. And, of course, consider your personal financial goals, risk tolerance and crypto market conditions.
