So am I most recent campaign the players spent the entire time trying to defeat a villain who also just happened to be a Demigod, by the end, they managed to kill him and we're celebrating across the world. They essentially went on a victory tour to every major city there was, but at the final city, they were stabbed with red wizard blades. Before they passed out, their former ally, who was killed, was revealed to have been brought back with necromancy to serve the Queen's wishes. After that the players woke up to find themselves an account where powerful / heroic beings are sent to have the energy and power sucked out of them. This was all plot to release Khar, Morgoth ripoff, from his prison at the edges of reality. My players all seem happy with this, but they also got kind of mad at me. I want to set up a sequel, but I just think I may have gone too far.

My GF has beautiful hair that's got tonnes of body and is fairly long. As many of you would know drying it is a TASK. I'm trying to write my dissertation somewhere that's not my house. My cat, my bed and depression distract me. My computer has a battery issue and needs to be connected to power.

My wife put power steering fluid in the brake fluid deposit on our 2005 jeep liberty. In an attempt to add more brake fluid, she mistakenly grabbed the wrong fluid. I wasn not aware of theistske until she drove it and her brakes started to clamp when the car ran hot. I bled the likes and ran new fluid a few times in an attempt to get the power steering out. The brakes still clamp. How fucked is the brake system? Saw a few blogs where they talk about seals swelling and damaging the master cylinder. Any advice is appreciated. TIA

Curious for other people's inspirations and ideas on a homebrew campaign.
Running my group through a mostly home brew campaign. I'm running them through a heavily modified version of Against the Slave Lords (2nd edition ad&d but updated for 3.5 ed).
The party has been disrupting the Feetla and the Slave Lords' plots bit by bit. They're uncovering that the Slave Lords are running an entire underground empire. The Slave Lords are preparing to launch all out war against divided kingdoms and independent lords in a bid to found their own official realm where they can proudly conquer others and lead in the open.
But this is all just surface level evil. The Slave Lords have been in league with of a coven of witches and hags. The Slave Lords are sending the majority of their slaves to the coven. In return, the coven is providing the Slave Lords with the edge they'll need to conquer entire kingdoms. The Slave Lords' underground empire is also the coven's route for sending their dark magics out into the world and unsuspecting innocents. Feetla and the Slave Lords will be more like the final bad guys at level 10. This coven and their evil master(s?) will be the final enemies at the end of the campaign/level 20.
Now here's my question: who do you think the coven of witches are? What dark power do they serve? What are their plots and the plots of their master (e.g. the level 20+ final boss of the campaign)? I have lots of ideas but none of them motivate me. I'm hoping someone has an idea or some inspiration to share!
For context, here are a couple of parameters I'm working with: 1. No demons or abyssal focus. Our group has done 2 campaigns where the main bad guys were demons. We need a new direction. 2. There's heavy themes of nature and the wild. I'm leaning toward evil fey/hags but I'm also open to other evil gods, yugoloths/daemons, devils, etc 3. A major theme of the campaign is that the group are gladiators/adventurers. Every few sessions they have an official gladiatorial arena match. I also try to make unique combat situations in dungeons that naturally feel like a gladiator match without forcing it. This informs and sets the tone for the campaign, but not every aspect of the campaign needs to be directed by the gladiatorial theme.

I just got told in a random meeting by my boss that they won't be renewing my years' contract in several weeks. I'm feeling upset obviously and I don't know if it has anything to do with my new co-worker or not who has been very bossy and manipulative, always putting me down, getting in my work business and gaining boss' favour, or whether I was just ill and it was an easy way to get rid of me. But obviously I'm upset as I worked hard here on min wage with no benefits, hardly took any days off, took all their abuse, etc. I would have liked to have left by myself and my own power, not this way. On the plus side, as l've been working on healing my CPTSD I recognised I would have to leave this toxic job with toxic manipulative people sooner than later. It was triggering for me and preventing me from fully healing and growing. Having to just take toxic abuse is never good. It's dysfunctional and will be internalised in some way. In the meantime, I'm just worried how I'm supposed to support myself when I feel ill and have medical appointments still. I’m in Canada, rents & bills are expensive where I live, and I’m from the U.K. (can legally work here with dual citizenship), but am on my own with no family and fully support myself. I actually fled from my toxic family before that. It's not a great time to job hunt and try to impress people on short trial periods, especially now that wth and flexible jobs are a lot more rare. Should I ask why they didn't renew my contract, or is it not helpful in this situation as this job and people are toxic and manipulative anyway?

I am trying to figure out how I would go about doing this. I will explain the best I can:
I have a table that is 4 columns. Each row contains the unique event number, id of person tied to the event, Start Date of the event, End Date of the event.
Multiple of these events are tied to the same people.
Ultimately I would like to find the days between the end of an event and the start of a new one for each persons ID.
I believe I would be starting off by creating a calculated column that would give me the start date of the next event for that person. Once I have this, it should just be a simple date diff calculation with an interval of days between the End date and the Next Start Date.
Anyone able to shed some light on how I would go about accomplishing this sort of thing?

I had the pleasure of being asked to chat with the hosts of the pop/nerd-culture podcast Enter The Nerdom about Dungeons & Dragons. After covering the game's history, mechanics, a few other TTRPGs, and the movie, we decided we'd play a session!
The hosts unanimously wanted to go with an OSR "survival-horror" dungeon crawl experience, and while we mostly talked about using B/X in this episode, the actual play (coming later this week) will actually use Knave (1E) for rules, and Directsun's Puzzle Dungeon: The Seers Sanctum (with some mods) for the adventure!

I remember reading a series of books, about 6 smallish paperbacks in early 2000's, though they were old then and fairly scruffy second hand books. They were sci-fi with some odd themes:
body transformation was pretty common, with several transformations resulting in turning people into deer.
different worlds were a theme, and one big world with lots of little ones on it, which i think was a space station of some form. beehive like layout with different biomes - this may have been the series finale.
there was some romance, but it was not erotica of any form.
I think there were aliens, possibly some odd / aquatic body types

When you analyze the mechanics of the the final boss fight with ganondorf, in my opinion, I think it reflects the virtues of the triforce, in a way. The first phase, would represent the triforce of power. You just beat him up as fast as you can, while dodging his attacks. This is usually the easiest phase for experienced players. The second phase would represent the triforce of wisdom. You have to try to figure out how to fight the real ganondorf, while his Malice clones are all around you. Some are attacking your allies, while others are attacking you. You also have to deal with the real ganondorf. The final phase, would represent the triforce of courage. In this phase, ganondorf will dodge most of your attacks, and can even dodge a flurry rush. The only way I have found to attack him normally, is to stand your ground, face your fears, and parry his attacks. This stuns himself long enough to get some attacks in. If you want to do the lame route, you can bounce in the air with a spring shield, and dump fused arrows into his face with the x5 lynel bow, that you get on the way there.
