In this post, I will tell you how to config biomes in BYG mod. All the config files should exist in {your_game_folder}/config/byg. If you don't know how to find your game folder, just google it, it is not difficult. And each config file has comments inside, you can read it before following my posts. The last thing, backup your files before changing them!!!
BTW, my English is not well, i hope you can understand this post.

OverWorld Biomes

File Structure

Region

Simply speaking, minecraft uses region to store chunks. You can find more in here. Open region folder, there are four files normally. Each one has its weight and the selectors.

Biome Selector

You can see there are a lot of selectors divided into different biome types. These selectors choose which vanilla biome to generate or which byg biome to replace. Before reading content below, keep in mind "replace" word used below is not meaning the vanilla biomes will not generate in game.

How to config

  1. Config byg-overworld-biomes.json5. If you dont like any byg biomes to generate in overworld, just change the "overworld_enabled" to false and close my post. I think a lot of people like me want to disable some biomes and enjoy the rest, so keep reading. In "regions" section, it has four values, and byg mod will pick one to generate everytime according to their weight in region files. If you want rare_region generated more, increase the weight in rare_region_1.json5.
  2. Config region files. Next, we're gonna config selectors. Open region files, each biome has its own selector. you maybe notice that some biomes have "variant" suffix, some are not.
    • For these dont have "variant" suffix: replace the vanilla biome with byg biome means it will generate byg biome which should be vanilla biome originally without the byg mod. e.g. if you replace the "minecraft:lukewarm_ocean" with "byg:lush_stacks" in oceans_1.json5(this file should be used in region file as selector), you will see the lukewarm_ocean in game without byg mod, but the lush_stacks with byg mod.
    • For these have "variant" suffix: overworld biome generation is based on 6 parameters, including Weirdness. If weirdness value is greater than 0, the generated biome becomes weirder. Therefore, you can config one byg biome to replace one normal vanilla biome or the weird biome. If weirdness value is greater than 0, byg mod will use normal selector config(filename without variant suffix). Otherwise, it will use variant config. e.g. in peak_biomes_1.json5, "byg:howling_peaks" will replace "minecraft:jagged_peaks"(weirdness < 0) and "minecraft:frozen_peaks"(weirdness >= 0).

2023.05.30 18:48 CastleImpenetrable A Look at How We Got Here: % Penetration, 9.5, ADCs, and Solos

It's no secret that Season 10, Year 10, or whatever you want to call it, has been a controversial year for Smite. A lot of people are frustrated and unsatisfied with the current state of Smite, and that's understandable. So I want to take the time to examine some of what's led up to today's Smite, create a timeline of the changes, and perhaps lay out some solutions.
Percent Penetration
Season 5:
Coming out of Season 4, Hi-Rez had a bit of a problem on its hands. Tanks were using items designed to counter them just as well as the squishier gods who were intended to buy them. The subsequent changes in Patch 5.1 are what I would consider the first domino to fall.
Obsidian Shard:
  • Reduced Magical Penetration from 33% to 20%.
  • NEW PASSIVE – If a target has over 40 Magical Protections, your spells ignore a larger percentage of their protections. This caps at 45% Magical Penetration at 175 or more Magical Protection
Titan's Bane
  • Reduced Physical Penetration from 30% to 20%.
  • NEW PASSIVE – If a target has over 65 Physical Protections, your spells ignore a larger percentage of their protections. This caps at 40% Physical Penetration at 175 or more Physical Protection.
So now, these items were less effective than before at hurting squishy gods, but would be more effective against tanks. However, % penetration was still confined to just two items. This would create problems later.
Season 7
Even before the full reveal of Season 7, Hi-Rez said wanted to address some issues with Magical Penetration. To that end, Ajax put out A Dev Insight on Magical Item Changes coming in 7.1. To highlight the % pen changes themselves, Ajax laid out the following:
  • Mages feel forced to buy Obsidian Shard to be effective.
  • Mages can buy a single item at the right time and then can ignore Guardians or Warriors builds and still output consistent damage to them.
To solve these issues we follow a similar methodology to our Conquest and God Ability Updates: Identify problems and set clear goals.
Here are the points we decided on when moving forward with this set of changes, and the actions we will be taking to meet those goals:
Percent Penetration Goal: Make receiving Magical damage feel less volatile, more predictable, and easier to understand.
Actions: Require Mages to purchase multiple items to reach the same amount of Percent Penetration.
Magical Power Goal: Introduce more meaningful trade-offs in itemization.
Actions: Adjust item stats to focus on power or penetration, not both.
Now, I'm not going to quote specific changes like before because there is a character limit. However, 7.1. introduced the framework of how % Pen works today. in 7.7, these changes were then adapted for Physical Items and now both damage types follow this framework today. These changes were praised at the time, but would contribute to the problem later.
Season 10:
So now a few Seasons later and that goal of making items focus on power or pen has seemingly vanished. Items for both types of damage can be found with both power and penetration can easily be slotted into builds. 10.4 has partially addressed this issue by reducing the % pen cap and adjusting items to compensate.
9.5 Changes and ADCs
Season 9:
So 9.5 didn't just make the gods tankier, it made creeps tankier. This unintentionally made physical gods much more valuable thanks to the differences in power scaling for physical and magical gods; especialy their basic attack scaling. Physical gods, but especially Hunters, could clear waves and camps without have to worry about taking as much damage as Mages since they got more value out of power in the early game. It's also easier for them to build sustain without compromising their builds.
So this led to most of the back half of Season 9 being a double Hunter meta with only a handful of Mages seeing some play. At times you were more likely to see an Assassin in Mid than a Mage.
Season 10:
This year I would say certain item changes and additions have led to a very interesting time for ADCs. Class Passives were introduced and 2 of the 5 immediately made their mark in the Duo Lane. Mage ADCs leveraged their new power, item changes, and the new Purple Buff to dominate the lane at the start of the year.
When they were brought down, Hunters who received many buffs going back to last Season, could instead shine. Items like Asi, Bloodforge, Bloodforge, Dominance, and the reworked Crit tree allowed them to find major success. Their new Class Passive also ensured their basics were hitting an extra 10% harder come late game. All these changes together led to a very strong Crit meta while leaving most ability-based Hunters out in the cold. Now this has been addressed with nerfs, and it'll be interesting to see how Hi-Rez moves forward.
10.1 and the Solo Lane
So we all know what happened in 10,1, but to recap. Power and Protection items were removed/reworked, barring Starter items, while Power and Health items would remain. The items that were reworked lost their power, but kept their passives and gained extra defensive stats.
Initially, Solo Lane still had or gained new choices that could let them dish out damage and threaten backline gods, Stone of Binding, Archdruid's, Bluestone, Warrior's/Sundering Axe, and even Tablet gave good damage. However, all of these items were nerfed and the damage of other roles continued to climb higher. Solo Laners had to pivot to a new strategy,
Enter the mitigation build. Solo's started using all the mitigation that was no present in the game post 10.1. Sigil, Oni's, Proph, Spirit Robe, and Berserker's. This gave Solo Laners as much defense as possible in the late game, but sacrificed damage. At this point they would use Crowd Control to stay relevant in team fights, but couldn't deal much damage without help. While their base damage could add up over time, that was an unlikely scenario. Because of this, the build fell out of favor before mitigation was even capped.
So now, there's about four gods in Solo seeing a lot of play. Vamana, Hercules, Horus, and Guan Yu. All 4 gods have either in-built power or prot shred that makes up for the lack of power from items, on top of their CC and utility, and defenses. While these gods are having success, the changes that happened in 10.1 and afterwards have made it harder for others to make an impact.
Proposed Solutions
Percent Penetration: So from the past we know that having all the percent pen on one item is troubling, and since it's an issue in the present because it's on too many items, then perhaps the sweet spot is in the middle. Leave it on two or three items while removing it from others. Then the items it's removed from can have a clear identity based on their stats and passive, rather than just being efficient stat sticks that also have good passives.
ADCs: The creep issue of 9.5 has been dealt with, and the Crit build path have been nerfed already. However taking the same approach with stats found in Hunter build paths, like I proposed with % pen, should be on the table. Create more distinct tradeoffs between build paths, rather than just getting everything, you want from a single build. Nerfing, reworking, or removing the Hunter Class Passive would also help more ability-based Hunters find their way into Duo. It may be too soon for a comeback of Mage ADCs, but personally I wouldn't be opposed to seeing them again.
Solos: I don't think Hi-Rez will walk back on their stance about PoweProt items anytime soon. So, the remaining PoweHealth items and items with bruiser passives should see buffs or reworks to help them out. Reducing the potency of Support auras also helps to make up for the power deficiency. Rasing the protections cap is another solution I've heard. This does have some merit as the benchmark of 3k health and 200 of each protection is a bit outdated in a post 9.5 Smite. It's very easy to cap out on protections nowadays, and 3k health is very easy to surpass.
These are just my observations and opinions though. I would be interested in seeing what others think about the current state of Smite.

Hi all,
I use Mixcloud currently as most of what I do is post DJ Mixes.
For reasons I won’t get into, Mixcloud is pissing me off, and I’m heavily considering switching.
Can those who have experience with both let me know what the main differences are between a pro account with SoundCloud and one with Mixcloud?
SoundCloud appears to be cheaper, but I’m wondering if it includes things like scheduled uploads, space for me to track list and timestamp my shows, offline downloads (this one looks like a yes), and any other info you can give me on if or why you prefer SC over Mixcloud….

So I recently got accepted as a transfer student for the fall 2023 as a physics student. Right now, it’s between USF and Florida Tech (still waiting to hear from UF, UM, and UCF). A big pro for me at Tech was that housing was super nice and I would be able to have my own space, whether that be as a single dorm or in an apartment-style suite. Does USF have similar options? How easy are these to obtain? Any input/advice would be appreciated!

Anyone any experience with changing compounds mid cycle? Not much info online regarding this. If I do go through with it, it will be my first time doing so. All previous cycles have been same compounds all the way through with orals included for upto 6 weeks only. I am currently on week 4 of running sus/deca and have added a decent amount of mass and strength, I was thinking of switching to test p and tren A for the last 6 weeks maybe even throwing in some winstrol to get more of a lean look during the peak of summer. Good idea or no? Any suggestions would be helpful.

I searched on YouTube for a tutorial but unfortunately, I couldn't find any. The reason I'm asking for a tutorial is because I came across some comments on metal extruder upgrades on Amazon where users of the Vyper mentioned that certain pins need to be swapped due to the differences between the Vyper and the Ender models. The extruder upgrades available are mostly designed for the Ender series, which feeds the filament in the opposite direction compared to the Vyper. Therefore, it would be helpful to find a tutorial that explains the process of swapping the pins to ensure compatibility with the Vyper.

Sunscreen, suncream, sunblocker - I haven't seen this topic discussed here yet, but it's quickly gaining relevance for me this time of the year.
When I use it, I put it on every part of my skin that's not covered by clothes, so there's no easy outs there.
One could of course just take spraying it onto the clothes as the next most easy thing to do, but I'm interested if you have compared that to applying the fragrance on top of your sunscreen.
How does sunscreen affect fragrances?
Does it affect some scents more than others?
Have you noticed any differences between different types of sunscreen? (e.g. the at least three that I know, which are the 'standard' rather liquid rather oily version, the rather viscous 'cream' version and the ones that claim and actually are being absorbed relatively quickly)
I assume it would be optimal to apply sunscreen first, optimally letting it be absorbed for a few minutes, then apply fragrance like you would kormally, but, now: what does your lived experience tell you?

I know she's a really good chess player and was at peak no. 8 in the world, but I've also seen other top GMs commentate and Judit Polgar is very fast at evaluating the soul of a position and finding ideas for both sides. She's also very articulate and the speed at which she finds tactics is impressive. Even in drawish positions she finds ideas that show that there is more to the position than it initially seems.

I know there are probably already some of these kind of posts here but i cant find the particular one i want. Yes i wanna buy a drone and i am between these 2. The Pro is probably better cause its called pro for a reason (48mp, o3, 4k 60fps etc). My previous drone was the Parrot Bebop 2 and the camera broke twice cause it lost the signal and crashed into buildings. Mostly i want to buy the Pro because of the sensors so if it loses its signal it doesnt crash anywhere but probably it wont since the range and transmission is better then parrots. Any suggestions?

Platform(s): I'm guessing it's either PC or console, shouldn't be mobile.
Genre: It looks to me like an action RPG, but I'm not sure because I've only heard of it.
Estimated year of release: Somewhere between 2010 to 2020, probably on the slightly older side.
Graphics/art style: Probably semi-realistic 3D similar to WoW.
Notable characters: There are 4(?) characters of different races: a human, an elf, a dwarf, and a demon(?).
Notable gameplay mechanics: I'm not sure what the gameplay is like, but I remember there was a cutscene or game dialogue or trailer that shows the characters insulting each other based on racial prejudices.
Other details: The plot is about a small group of individuals of different races being trapped in a dungeon or something like that, and despite them not liking each other due to racial prejudices, they need to work together to escape from the dungeon(?).

Going to the gym 4x a week - I hate working out but the differences are immaculate and it relaxes anger
Filling my life with positive things - cringey, but I only watch happy shows and avoiding any negative media or music (My favorite show right now is pre-historic planet on Apple TV)
Getting outside and about - it absolutely sucks in the beginning and I’m tired and feel like I’m wasting my time but eventually you can look back and think “wow I’m being pro-active and my life is full”
Hiking - I’ve always loved hiking but was to lazy and hypocritical to do it, it is truly my favorite thing in life and I cannot imagine living without - it’s something to look forward too - I’m working harder so eventually I can take a bunch of time off and just travel and hike

Hello!
I'm looking into adding an input filter to the power line of a device in order to reduce noise (CH1 below), because the noise is coupling with the signal (CH2 below) generated by the device. By measuring the supply voltage rail and taking the FFT, the frequency of the noise peaks at 2.6MHz (M1 below).
In general, how would one go about designing a power line filter, such that CH1 would be as flat as possible? How do I know which type (C only, L only, LC, Pi, etc.) is ideal? Do I need additional measurements, like Input/Output impedance, to determine the optimal filter design? Thank you!

2023.05.30 18:43 Asad_Farooqui Switch games with handdrawn art styles you could recommend?

I’ve been playing a good amount of Shantae Half Genie Hero to cool down in between TOTK sessions, and the 2D art is an absolute treat for the eyes (in more ways than one). The 2D animated portraits in Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp, done by the same developer WayForward, are also delightful paired with the funny dialogue exchanges. Although plenty of people have expressed their grievances with the 3D style that the rest of the game goes for. As you can see though, different genres can still lend themselves to an art direction like this, and WayForward I feel is the prime example here.
Some others that look enticing to me based on their handdrawn styles include Streets of Rage 4, brought to us by the same publishers as TMNT Shredder’s Revenge, and Chicory: A Colorful Tale. I’ve also heard many wonderful things about Gris and admittedly got emotional over the reveal of their next game Neva. It’s just that I don’t really know what either play like at the moment. Of course stuff like Hollow Knight and Cuphead go without mentioning; everyone knows how good those look.
